Investigators from the Hub give evidence to the London Assembly EU Exit Working Group

On Tuesday 26th January, Investigators from the hub, Charlotte O’Brien and Alice Welsh gave evidence to the London Assembly EU Exit Working Group on some of the problems facing EU nationals in the UK.

The session covered problems with the EU Settlement Scheme including the imminent deadline to apply, the lack of information on accuracy of the scheme, dispute resolution and the future deadlines of those with pre-settled status. We also highlighted some key issues for EU citizens exercising their rights in the UK including access to welfare benefits, the confusion and risk of discrimination during the Grace Period, how delays to EUSS decisions can have a knock on effect and the risks of a digital only status.

A recording of the meeting can be found on the London Assembly website. The panel on EU citizens’ rights begins at 2:30.00.

Our written submission to the EU Exit Working Group will be available here shortly.
